It seems that the future of eventing in the USA is looking rosy with some positive numbers being shared during the US Eventing Association Annual Meeting & Convention, held from December 12th – 15th in Seattle, Washington.
During the 2024 USEA Annual Meeting of Members on Saturday 14th, the USEA VP of Administration of Finance, Molly Pellegrini presented her Report of the Treasurer, revealing that both the financial status of the Association and the activity of its members is on the up.
An overview of the numbers provided in the US Eventing report show that:
Revenue increased 13.3% in comparison to fiscal year 2023
Starters increased 5.6% in comparison to the 2023 season
Membership remained steady and consistent
And, while the number of USEA recognized events ran in the 2024 season did decrease, starters per event saw a 10.2% uptick
Hilary Miskoe, of the USEA Foundation, which is charged with building reserves for the long-term security of the USEA and the sport of eventing in the USA, also provided an update outlining that the Foundation was ‘in strong standing and that the 2024 investments and donations made were kind to the Foundation's growth’.
