Fairfax & Favor Rockingham International - find out more here
Today's cross country video winners at Rockingham are;
BE100 Section F: Franky Reid-Warrilow and Tillington Jet Setter
BE100 Section H: James Avery and Seaflower
Novice Section K: Ros Canter and DHI Jura
Ros Canter and DHI Jura topped the leader board of the Novice Section K at the Fairfax & Favor Rockingham International Horse Trials today with a score of 25, just ahead of Lucy Robinson on board RLE French Clover (25.5) and Laura Collett on Randalstown Quest (27.4)
Lucy came home clear and under time on the cross country while Ros and Laura picked up a small number of time faults on their two horses. While Randalstown Quest is still a youngster at just six years of age, DHI Jura is a little older but is a special horse for Ros
Laura Collett and Randalstown Quest
Owned by Simon and Jayne Brodie, DHI Jura lost one eye following an infection a few years ago. He has slowly returned to eventing with Ros, who knows that he is never likely to be 4* horse, but she enjoys riding him and he seems to love it too, despite only having one eye.
Brilliant Twilight was not a fan of actually going in the Start Box but he came out like a rocket
Ros also took second place in the Novice Section L on board Grafics (31.5) but this time it was her turn to be pipped at the post by Isabel White and Brilliant Twilight (31.4). Ros had a better dressage score and both ladies show jumped clear but Isabel stormed around the cross country course for the second fastest ride of the class with just 0.4 time penalties
Giovanni Ugolotti and Swirly Temptress
In the Novice Section J it was Laura Collett’s turn to take second place riding Fadeline despite riding one of only three double clear cross country rounds in this class. Canada’s Kathryn Robinson also came home with a double clear on Brookpark Momentum for third place but it was her partner, Italy’s Giovanni Ugolotti that took the honours in first place on Swirly Temptress
