Horseheath (2) and Train for Eventing Preview

An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at

Horseheath (2) & Train for Eventing 2022

Sadly, circumstances beyond our control stopped us from being at Horseheath (1) in April for its first ever Novice competition but we will certainly be back for this weekend’s Horseheath (2)

The format is slightly different to normal however with one day of British Eventing competition taking place during Horseheath (2) on Saturday 7th May.

This will see competitors at BE90, 90 Open, 100, 100 Open and 105 levels take to the beautifully prepared cross country tracks, which will be running in the opposite direction to the first event, providing a different challenge for competitors attending both events.

The BE105 course in particular has been designed to be a stepping stone between BE100 and Novice level, which will now be a regular on the Horseheath calendar

Sunday 8th May will be quite different however with the new concept of Train for Eventing at BE80, BE90 and BE100 levels. Non-members of BE are also welcome to participate, by simply completing a FREE registration for yourself and your horse prior to entering the competition

This is designed to be fun and educational as there is NO Dressage, just show jumping and cross country.  All riders complete the show jumping phase for which they are given a start time (no elimination but unseated riders must be cleared by the medical team), and they then progress directly onto the cross country course.

All courses will have 15 numbered fences, including the water complex and we will be there to film all competitors on cross country

And if you think it’s just for newbies, think again - New Zealand Olympic medallist Caroline Powell has five entries!
