We talk to Suzanne Birchall, Connie Russell and Lily Evans, three of the four winners of the D & J Saddlery BE80 (T) sections on Friday at Kelsall Hill
While Connie and Lily were initially disappointed with their dressage, Suzanne was delighted with her personal best score but none of their winning scores came close to that of the Section C winner Robyn Gray riding Little Mill II who won on an amazing score of 12.5.
Several riders in the BE80(T) were eliminated in the show jumping - Fence 9 caused the most trouble with several mistaking it for the first fence. One of those was Fiona Lloyd on Rick Kinetic K who explained "It was my own fault - I didn't actually walk the course but I did know which one was the first fence. I cantered in and saw the Start sign near Fence 9 and headed to it in the heat of the moment. It's a shame as my horse feels really good today but I only have myself to blame!"
Luckily none of the winners had the same problem but Suzanne came close
