Francis Whittington and Hasty Imp finished 7th in the CIC3* despite An Eventful Moment on course
An Eventful Life is filming all riders on cross country at all Tri-Star Eventing competitions in 2018
There were quite a few ‘Eventful Moments’ moments at the Belton International but three captured on our video cameras really stood out and one gave us all a good laugh
The sun was out on Saturday for the CIC2* and Francis Whittington probably summed up how a lot of riders were feeling to finally be on cross country
“How much fun it is to be out and about when so many events have been cancelled. Here we were, it was a bright sunny day, Cato (Excellent R) was feeling fantastic and I was having great fun. I love my cross country and I was having a really jolly ride!”
Excellent R had a sticky moment at the Hollows but went beautifully through the water and, in response to Matt Ryan’s commentary (which was great all weekend), Francis gave some fist pumping and waves over a couple of fences …..

The next day Francis also survived a moment on Hasty Imp in the CIC3* at Fence 6 which had caused problems all day and Imogen Murray also caught our eye, banking the Investec table at Fence 5 (see video below), but we feel that the TriStar Eventful Moment for Belton International has to go to Francis for being not only entertaining but also showing great stickability!
