Sarah Holmes was the only competitor at Osborne Horse Trials who didn’t have to cross the Solent to compete on the Isle of Wight
Local competitor Sarah had great support from the islanders as she competed a horse in each class to finish in sixth, ninth and 10th places. Her clean sweep of clear show jumping rounds delighted the crowd and her progress across country could be followed by listening to the cheers
We had a quick chat with the Isle of Wight resident, who had the pleasure of meeting Dame Judy Dench and the Duchess of Cornwall just prior to the event as they visited Osborne House, and who enjoyed being able to compete on home turf for a change
