Sarah Ray riding Irish Mist - second in the 2*
The Victorian Eventers Committee decided to run a new summer fundraiser summer to be held on the 19th and 20th January to help raise money for numerous eventing committees around the State. The aim is to raise funds to assist in building new cross country courses so that events around the State can continue to grow and improve their facilities.
Unfortunately the event didn’t get as many entries as we had hoped for, but the weekend ran so smoothly and everyone had a great time.
Rachael Feely on Impian Willy B - 4th in the 1*
The Saturday clinic was popular with Scott Barclay and Catherine Davies instructing the show jumping whilst Amanda Ross, Scarlett Blakeley and Helen McDonald were giving some guidance on how dressage should be done. With just under 40 people participating in the clinic it was a nice day but with a light breeze so everyone ended up covered in dirt and sand at the end of the day!
The Combined Training competition on Sunday saw 50 competitors ranging from Intro through to 2*level and with Chris Height designing the show jumping course we had a very safe and fun day. The winners for the classes were;
Intro – Georgia Stephens on Sheeba (pictured above)
Prelim – Georgia Bradley on Carramar Park James Squire
Pre Nov – Ebony Toole on Game On
1* - Sarah Ray on King Vassie
2* - Tarryn Proctor and ESB Irish Quest
Jacquie Sayers and Leo were 4th in the Pre-novice
On behalf of the VEA committee I would just like to thank all the people who came and supported the weekend we hope that next year we can make it bigger and better!
