Susannah Stewart has continued her winning form aboard the 15-year-old, Cowboy, with a classy performance in the CNC2*+ at ESNZ Eventing Canterbury's one day event at McLeans Island on Sunday 12th October

Just Stewart and Emily Cammock (West Melton) on Shaw Lee started after the scratching of Sam Taylor (Swanannoa) and Leo Degas.

Cammock and Shaw Lee held the advantage after a strong 3* dressage performance to sit on 38 penalties, but once again Stewart produced a near flawless cross country with Cowboy flying round clear incurring just 1.2 time penalties. Cammock was clear but careful coming home more than 36 seconds over the time allowed (14.6 penalties) and backed it up with clear show jumping but it wasn't enough to catch Stewart even with a rail down.

Today's win made it two-from-two this season for the 23-year-old trainee teacher, who is eyeing up the NZ National One Day Event title to be held at the same venue next month, having won the opening event here last month.

The Sally Wigley and Richard Crowe-designed cross country took its toll on the CNC2* class with only three of the seven combinations finishing clear. Third equal after dressage, West Coast visitor Eve Hawes (Reefton) jumped her way into the lead on Hurlingham Lansong with the fastest time of the day finishing just outside the time allowed. Despite three rails down in the show jumping Hawes had done enough to take the win on 48.8 penalties ahead of Courtney Davis (Waipara) on By Hoki, second, on 56.8 and Cammock third on Al For Short with 60.4.

The hotly contested CNC1* was won by young Amalia Rowley (Timaru) on Starburst finishing on their dressage score of 30.8, while the CNC105 went to Nicole Shadbolt (Ladbrooks) on Vollaro. Katie Rankin (Oxford) won the CNC95 aboard Ashbury Storm with the CNC80 taken out by Anna Robertson (Christchurch) on Moby II.
