Reports from Luhmuhlen say that the 4 Star course designed by Mark Phillips is quite tough with some huge jumps. The course is, according to FEI TV commentator John Kyle "a cracking and true four star test". Comprising 43 jumping efforts over a course of approximately ten and a half minutes, this will certainly be a big challenge for horse and rider and Andrew Nicholson is being touted as the man to beat

The leader after dressage, Lucinda Fredericks describes Mark Phillips' Cross Country track as “pretty meaty. Every jump is big and there’s a stack of wide fences. There’s a lot to jump in 10 minutes. The ground is fast but good, and the rain we’re just getting now will be good. I’m looking forward to the challenge.’

“The cross country course is big and bold with a lot of maximum dimensions and four challenging water complexes. I have been drawn midway in the programme which I am happy with and with dressage starting on Friday I will be trying my best to bring home a great result!”

She also adds

“I don’t think I’ll still be in the lead after Cross Country as, although he’s a very good jumping horse, he’s inexperienced, and I will probably get a few time penalties. But as long as I finish in a good place, I will be very happy. Who knows? We might even be needed for Greenwich in six weeks’ time!”

This is what John Kyle had to say about the course for FEI TV; thanks also to John and Cross Country App we also can take a look at a few of the fences on the course (see below)
