Juana Andreou is one of Victoria’s up and coming riders on her top horse Sunvalley Donnerhe who has just started competing at 3* level but at Pakenham Horse Trials last weekend she was giving her two younger horses, Flynn and Dutch their first outing.
We caught up with her after cross country as she hopped off Flynn, a 7 year old thoroughbred off the track who she is now eventing, having ridden track work on him during his racing career. To complement her eventing career, Juana works at the racing stables of leading Victorian trainer Brendan McArthy (‘a job I love!’ she says) and she recently had an interesting experience coming second to Black Caviar.
Juana was riding one of Brendan McArthy’s horses, Paaratte Pat in a trial at Sandown, one which saw the famous mare return to the track. Watch the video below to see Juana and Paaratte Pat finish second to Black Caviar - Juana is in the short sleeves and blue helmet
And how you more usually see Juana at events.................................
