Bimbadeen Bulletin

Rain rain rain…..it has certainly been a very wet start to the 2012 season. The team planned to start the competition year at Berry show. Keen and eager, the truck left Bimbadeen Park at 4.30am only to return five hours later. They drove 2.5 hours to arrive at the Berry showgrounds in time for the announcement that the jumping events had been cancelled. The rain continued for the following week and so Shane and team decided not to travel to Nowra Show, they did not want a repeat of the previous week.

Shane is pleased to have formed new associations with Bayer Australia and Equiline clothing. Shane is really impressed with the both these companies. Bayer Australia stocks a wide variety of great products and Equiline is a new brand to Australia, the clothing is from Italy and is beautiful

The truck load of newly acquired horses from Riverside Station in Queensland have arrived at Bimbadeen Park, the older horse have begun the breaking in process and are progressing well.

Camden Hunter Trials went ahead and, despite the wet weather in the lead up, the actual day was hot and sunny. The Hunter Trials was a great way to start the year with a relaxed pressure free training day with all the horse going well.

The first competition of the year for the Bimbadeen team was the Sydney midweek CNC. Shane rode four horses, he had Wisteria Lane and Shanghai Joe in the CNC1*. Both did reasonable tests, they went well cross country and jumped nicely, they placed 3rd and 8th respectively. In the Prelim class Shane had two homebred youngsters who were having their first start. Fantastic Mr Fox (by Another Warrior) and Pumpkin (by Statford Novalis) were both a little green but Shane is very excited about their future, they will have learnt a great deal from this outing and will now have break and come back out in a few months.

Gordy Pratt rode Lee Hokianga's Glenorchy South Park (Kenny) in his first Pre Novice at the mid week event ; they did a super test but unfortunately Kenny was a bit spooky cross country and that resulted in a few stops cross country.

Shane’s team had a great Sydney CNC weekend event with Taurus leading from start to finish to win the CNC3*, most impressive was his super clear showjumping round, it was a tough track with only 3 clears and Shane was two of the three clears. APH Moritz also jumped clear which added to his good dressage and cross country round they finished 2nd in the CNC3* just behind Taurus. The success was not limited to the CNC3*, Virgil was on good form too and won the CNC2* in great style.

Statford Neo was having his second 3* start, he put in a solid performance to place 7th in the tough class. Shane and Neo survived a nasty moment at the water jump

Gordy had better luck at the Sydney weekend event with Glenorchy South Park much more confident cross country. They placed 3rd in the Pre Novice class.

Scone CNC in March was another great weekend for Shane and his lovely team of horses. Johnnie Walker's Taurus lead from start to finish in the CNC3*, he again jumped a super clear showjumping round. Shane has worked really hard on his showjumping since Adelaide 4* last year and the results are showing.

Brett Jones and Michelle Hasibar's Virgil was once again victorious in the CNC2* taking his winning streak to four straight. The home bred 5yo Shanghai Joe (by Another Warrior) won the CNC1* (pictured below). Shane also placed 7th in the CNC1* with Niki's Wisteria Lane and placed 10th in the CNC3* with the young Stallion Statford Neo.

Soigne Jackson's was having her first start for 2012 and placed 5th with Warrego Collateral Damage in the CNC1* and 11th in the CNC3* with Gold.

Gordy Pratt was leading the Pre Novice class on Glenorchy South Park until a stop at the water dropped them out of contention.

Shane, Rachel and Soigne attended Castle Hill show. This was a great opportunity to jump a few rounds on each horse. As all the classes were speed events most of the team were not quick enough to figure in the placing’s. Virgil was however able to pick up a 2nd in the 1.25m and 3rd in the 1.15m. Moritz was 3rd in the 1.25m
