Mason and F1 Pharinelli won the premiere class at the NSW Baxter Boots State Championships for the second year running.

Mason was second after dressage to Tim Boland on GV Billy Elliot but improved her position adding just 6 time faults on cross-country and jumping a beautiful clear show jumping round. "I am having so much fun on him, he knows his job now so he is nice to ride," said Mason of F1 Pharinelli. "I was really happy with him in all three phases, he is feeling really confident."

"As always the course was beautifully presented and asked enough questions that you had to stay on the job. It rode really well and I know all the riders are so grateful to Baxter Boots for their ongoing support if this great event." Mason is heading to Adelaide for the CCI4* and, whilst she cannot attend the Canberra CIC in two weeks time, she plans to continue her show jumping training between now and Adelaide. "I show jump every weekend that I am not eventing so I will continue to do that as I really want to be comfortable in that phase," she added

New Zealand's Alice Montgomery finished second on Gordon. Montgomery  was ninth after dressage but flew around the cross-country with just 0.4 time faults, the second fastest horse of the day elevated her second place. Four faults in the jumping did not lower her position. Stuart Tinney and Pluto Mio finished third by 0.1 penalties, adding just 9.6 cross-country time faults to their dressage score. Christine Bates and Adelaide Hill claimed 4th place whilst Tim Boland finished 5th overall. Shane Rose was the only rider to make time on the CIC3* track - riding his talented thoroughbred Il Vici.

The CIC2* was won by Shane Rose on the young Vivant gelding Virgil, second to  Stevie-Jade Shakoff and Tickety Boo whilst Christine Bates and CP Qualified took home third place. Annabel Armstrong won the CIC1* on Jack in the Box, Soign Jackson was second on Warrego Collateral Damage, third place to Tim Boland and Umunga. The event was blessed with good weather and the course was up to its usual high standards. Entries were higher than ever with riders taking advantage of the quality course ahead of the upcoming Australian International 3-Day Event in Adelaide.
