Piggy March was last year’s CCI4* winner here on Vanir Kamira and she brings four horses forward this year including Coolparks Sarco, who was long listed for the British team at Haras Le Pin. Piggy is just one of the top contenders along with Pippa Funnell, William Fox-Pitt, Bubby Upton, Izzy Taylor, David Doel and Zara Tindall, to name but a few.
Australia’s Bill Levett has two horses entered in the 4* while James Avery and Jesse Campbell will be flying the flag for the Kiwis and China’s Alex Hua Tian, winner of the CCI3*-L here last year, is another notable ‘international’.
As well as the headline CCI4*-S class, the CCI3*-L and CCI2*-L classes are packed with up-and-coming stars and the Dubarry Burghley Young Horse Qualifier on Wednesday will also showcase future talent.
Dressage starts on Thursday for all classes with cross country and show jumping on Saturday for the CCI4*-S which finishes that day while the long-format 2* and 3* classes conclude on Sunday.
