Tinney Eventing – November 2013

What a bumper few weeks.

Here a summary of what’s been happening:

* Our new horses arrived from Germany.

* Gemma's zone won the PC Champs plus the Youth show jump Champs.

* Karen's quick trip to Germany.

* Equestriad, Goulburn and Scone eventing.

* Compression recovery for us and our horses!

* Sponsors news and Equitana.

October saw Stuart and Karen on separate trips go to Europe. Stuart as well as completing his 'Course Design' seminar found 2 lovely German breed show jumping mares which will begin their eventing career in 2014. One generously bought by Kathy Ward and Pete O'Connell. Pete and Kathy have owned world class horses with us before ( Ava and Vettori)' Pete and I are very excited to be back on board as owners with Stuart and Karen and look forward to our journey together with 'Queen Mary'' quoted Kathy.

Just after Stuart had returned Karen then went back to Germany to buy a horse for a client, picking up one for herself! Which of course will be campaigned by Stuart. He arrives late November.

A little jet lagged, Karen went to the Youth show jumping Champs, where Gemma won her 1.15m class on KING - just pulling 2 rails in the 1.20m.

Off to Harden next for the State ODE eventing Championships- Gemma placed 4th in the A grade, contributing to zone 23 winning  the Championships.

L-R Nikki Henderson, Rachael Temm, Macy Reen and Gemma.

With three events in five weeks it was busy here at Tinney Eventing, Equestriad saw our own Sydney second in the 2 star and Wyandah Rolly winning the EV95. Gemma took her sisters ride 'Gossip Girl' in to the EvA95 and came second.

Watch this great footage from An Eventful Life of War Hawk cross country.

Just to add that An Eventful Life offers cross country video footage of your horses from all major events. Maybe take some time to think about how much time and effort goes into this service that has never been offered before to Australian event riders. Support An Eventful Life as much as purchase your round and become a supporter of their fabulous news, results, blogs from all over the globe. Thanks An Eventful Life - you have taken Australian eventing to a new level.

Scone was a little disappointing after getting there and seeing the ground was very hard due to lack of rain, so Stuart did not run any of the higher class horses in the cross country. However Wyandah Rolly came in second EV95.

Wallaby Hill hosted Jaymee, Laura and Brittany (our working students) in the junior EV105 which they all did very well considering their trip ( Brittany's car blowing up on the way there) We thank Wallaby Hill for accommodating  3 stressed 18 yr olds! Also Amy for taking them and organizing the horses after the breakdown on the freeway - Jaymee coming 3rd, Laura 4th and Brittany 6th. What a weekend, Karen team manager in Harden with Gemma, Stuart in WA coaching and Jaymee at Wallaby Hill!

   Stuart at Goulburn with Sydney

The following week we had Goulburn with nine horses. Not the ideal time for Karen to be struck with gastric flu. The weekend was certainly busy is many ways! Stuart did a smashing test on the Pittards 'Pluto Mio' and won, staying in the lead after a fabulous show jump round. With Adelaide 4 star looming it was decided with the hard ground to give Pluto and Sydney a nice run and not go for time - both horses were sensational across country and came with plenty of running -Pluto 4th CIC*** and Sydney 2nd CCI***

Annapurna in preparation for Adelaide too did not need the run cross country and neither did the Huskinsons's War Hawk. Wyandah Rolly finished seventh in the EvA95. What a fabulous young horse Rolly is and we thank Susie Clapton for the opportunity. Rolly is now having a well deserved break at home with his owner. But the star of the weekend was our student Laura Bell winning the junior EV105 State Champion, congratulations Laura and Mitch ( see below)
