Never a dull moment at Tinney Eventing with this last month consisting of the three C’s. Coaching, Competitions and Clinics having taken up April.
Gemma and King attended the Interschool competition and Oxley College. With an unfortunate tyre blow out on the way it did not deter them from becoming champion in her age group. Pictured with team mate Macy Reen, also champion in her age group.
Berrima Horse Trials in the Southern Highlands turned on the autumn charm. Lansina was in the EvA105 and came 2nd; Wyandah Rolly owned by Susie Clapton came 2nd in the EvA95 and Wendy Pike’s Statford Nia into 4th Place in the EvA80. Jaymee and Sydney placed 6th in their first CIC*. We turned into Show Jumpers for two days over Castle Hill Show, thankfully the rain held off and it was good to get the horses out to see the sights and sounds of the show.
Albury Horse Trials was not to be our event. With Stuart and Pluto Mio parting company at the water, Annapurna, War Hawk and Jaymee riding Sydney having run outs on XC. However to make up for it Lansina placed 6th in the EvA105 and Susie Clapton’s Wyandah Rolly 2nd in the EvA95.
We opened our gates to the students from Marcus Oldham College. They came for a tour of our property and to find out how we work, and also got a riding demonstration from Stuart; it is great to see so many young people wanting to come into the equestrian industry.
We had our recent Squad School held at the amazing venue at SIEC and organised by Equestrian NSW Australia. First day consisted of the invaluable help from Brett Parbery and second day jumping with help from Sam Lyle and Prue Barrett.
The fabulous team from Bates Australia popped in to run their expert eye over our saddles and to a little fine-tuning. We always love having them to the yard and discussing their new products in the pipe line especially the BATES Innova Mono+ which I suggest you keep an eye on the BATES website for more information coming soon.
Jaymee has been inducted into the Macquarie University Sport Scholarship for a second year, which is a fantastic achievement.
When Stuart and Pluto Mio parted company at the water at Albury, Pluto pulled up a little muscle sore and had to miss out on the final fitness preparation, which is vitally important so it was decided in consultation with his owners John and Jane Pittard to reroute him to Melbourne Three Day Event instead so we can make fully sure that he is at optimum fitness. Pluto and Annapurna made an appearance at Sydney 3DE doing the test ride for the CCI** and *** class. Both looked great in their tests- both scoring mid 40's.
Jaymee took her new ride Sydney (previously ridden at 3 star by her father) to Sydney 3DE and rode the CCI* class with great style and determination. Placing her 11th in the open class, we were very proud of her.
Our coming events are;
Camden Equestriad – 17/18 May: Pluto, Anna CIC***, War Hawk CIC** Jaymee CIC** Sydney and Gemma CIC** King.
Melbourne International 3DE at Werribee 7/8/9 June. CCI*** Pluto and Anna. CCI** War Hawk.
See you all out eventing, TE.
