A tale of two events

War Hawk wins at Sydney (above and below)

Since we last wrote we have been to two events at Goulburn CIC and the weekend past at Sydney @ SIEC Fundraiser. In between preparing for these events we have enjoyed introducing our three new German imports to Australia. However they all think its winter here - so three clips coming up !!

It was fabulous to have an event of such calibre in the lead up to Adelaide 4*at Sydney with War Hawk certainly looking great all weekend taking the win in the CNC3*, not far behind (3rd) was Gemma on John and Jane Pittard’s Annapurna followed by our own Wanda in 4th at her first 3* start.

Another German import, Diabolo with Gemma

We were recently sent some facts from the committee of Sydney @ SIEC event (hence the Fundraiser). What we all take for granted is that we all have the unique opportunity to ride at an existing Olympic Games venue, maybe one of the only purpose-built equestrian Olympic venues to still operate. It is always going to be costly to have such an incredible facility with very high rental due to resources and upkeep.

We here at TE are always thankful we can continue to have these events with great patronage we can all enjoy our eventing for many years to follow  so keep the support up - we love SIEC.

Stuart and the DNSW Youth Squad

We were recently invited to give a talk for the Youth Squad for Dressage conducted by DNSW. It was a great few days, engaging these very enthusiastic dressage riders so well done to the organisers (thanks Mandy!) We introduced them all to the holistic side pointing out that, as well as training, there was horse management.

We spoke about 'how to run a successful horse business' which included horse welfare, plus alot of medal holding, photos and SPONSOR poster signing!! It was a great night and we all had fun.

Wanda at Lynton Horse Trials, Goulburn

Well you know when you have a bad to average event it makes you more determined for the next! It must be why we just love this sport as there is always room for improvement, horse and rider - plus we are always trying to understand our horses better. Goulburn was certainly an fabulously organized event as always but a couple of our horse, rider were not 'on their game'! However Elisabeth Brinton's 'Celebration' and our 'Wanda' both performed exceptionally for their level smiley
