Sydney 3DE and What's Next

Only a few events came in April, Canberra plus a very important one for the Australian selectors and riders - the Sydney CCI***.   Stuart started John and Jane Pittard’s Pluto Mio in the Sydney 3 star class. With a 49 in the dressage and running 6th we were happy with Pluto. A fabulous clear and under time Cross Country left him in the same position. The course rode well and the time was certainly achievable. With 2 rails in the show jumping they slipped to 9th position... Overall we were very happy with Pluto he has come a long way in the past 6 months and with more time we expect him to be more established in all 3 phases.

Horse and riders were very close in points and there was some movement in placings after the show jumping, except Shane Rose who won from start to finish. The top 10 line up had all our Elite riders living in Australia, all very much wanting that berth on the Australian team. With 3 months out, Badminton being cancelled, and some top riders still needing to get qualified it will be stressful times ahead, for selectors and horse/ rider combinations.

Sydney 3DE Lineup: Winner Shane Rose, 2nd Tim Boland, 3rd Emma Scott, 4th Emma Mason 5th Megan Jones, 6th Sonja Johnson, 7th Christine Bates, 8th Natalie Blundell, 9th Stuart and 10th Craig Barrett.

What’s in store now for us is a series of events with Panamera and Orchard Hill. Tim Game’s Panamera and Orchard Hill will go to Quirindi 2 star , then Equestriad CIC*** and there is a high chance that both will run at Melbourne if there is a class that may be suitable for them prior to selection.  Stay tuned!

BEHIND THE SCENES

A lot goes on here at Tinney Eventing.. As well as riding and preparing our 3 Shadow team horses for London we have other horses in schooling, lessons, clinics, and just general house keeping... Alongside our normal day to day activities we have been busy with media, photo shoots and being available for anything that may involve promoting the coming Games in London.

Recently we have been very involved with the Equine compression suits HIDEZ...  After 2 years of research and design HIDEZ have come up with a very well fitting compression suit which we have been using pre and post exercise. As much as it is virtually impossible to know if they do the job they are suppose to (help with muscle fatigue and recovery) we certainly think they do and endorse them. Our horses appear to recover well after exercise and their muscles feel less tight when worn pre exercise... Certainly unique in their look!

Just have to drop a small plug in for the new ‘Dare to be Dublin’ range from Horseland... Bright colours are certainly the rage... as you can see with the HIDEZ suits above... Their new range of Dublin boots and chaps in patent red (also come in black) are just so groovy... Completely love this range and their ad... you got to take a look! Make sure your volume is on high!!

A real must for your equestrian wardrobe... or just your wardrobe!!

Don’t forget Leaping to London Fundraiser 29th June! Tables selling fast so get organized... All the best,

Stuart, Karen and all at Tinney Eventing
