We’re sorry for the delay in our monthly news however it has been a rather hectic month with both Stuart and Gemma riding at Melbourne International 3 Day Event. It was certainly worth all the time, effort and support with a fabulous win for Corinna and Darren Huskinson 's War Hawk in the CCI3*.

“War Hawk, known as Raffles in the stable is just sorting himself out in the dressage with a smooth test (48) still some work to do on his changes, I feel he will be a solid contender for Bromont at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Canada. I am very excited for this as his jumping is very reliable”
Gemma riding John and Jane Pittard’s second horse Annapurna was great from start to finish, providing the all-important CCI1* to qualify for CCI2*, they finished the showjumping with a clear round to win the class.
And then of course there was the fabulous Pluto Mio in second place to Shane Rose in the CIC3*. This class for us was definitely a pre-Olympic run around; Pluto jumped around the XC like a hack out in the park, finishing on a clear show jump round. It was a good day at the office !

We really should not have a favourite but the beautiful Carlchen stepped up to come eighth in the CCI3* and certainly enough for us to take him to the UK as our reserve horse

With many out of pocket expenses, two months away from home for Stuart and twice as long for Pluto and Carl, plus triple this if you include Shane and Sonja ..... the 'Leg up for the Rio Trio' was formed ! With a great night to celebrate the three riders being nominated to travel to the UK camp we took to the removal of Stuart's beard in the bid to raise more funds! ( Which it did, thank you Zana your shaving skills are amongst the better!) but Shane, you did not need to take a hoof knife to Stuart's throat !!!!

After four years another Olympic Games is upon us all. We hope to make you all proud of the Aussies with a very inspiring team named to go to Rio; Shane Rose, Stuart, Chris Burton and Sam Griffiths with the travelling reserve to be named prior to the flight late July to Rio. Fingers crossed for all the members listed and congratulations to the others that have been named as reserves for the Olympic Camp.
