Gemma and Annapurna win the Bates Young Rider Championship at the Australian International 3 Day Event
When you miss a month of news, you suddenly realise how much news there is here at Tinney Eventing. We all needed to stop for a second after the build up to the Olympics and of course the anxiety of getting a podium finish just capped the stress levels!
However months have passed and it's back to normal again here. And of course in November we head to Adelaide!
The Australian International 3 Day Event
Firstly can we thank PYT Equine photography for the most amazing collection of pictures of War Hawk and also thank Corinna and Darren Huskinson, his owners for making this happen.
This year it was War Hawk’s turn to step up to 4 *. Overall we are so happy with him, a green run off took him down to sixth place but held his place with a beautiful clear round. He will be more seasoned next year and, with that in mind, we hope he will take the title in the CCI4* in 2017!
Gemma and Annapurna had the pressure of jumping last in the CCI2*
Thank you to Horseland and Bates for sponsoring the CCI2* and Young Rider Championship classes
Adelaide is an amazing event and never disappoints but it was an exceptional Adelaide for TE this year. It is very crowd friendly, there is great entertainment and it is always a hit for TE. This is not to say that we haven’t had our fair share of competing disasters over the years but we finished happy this year.
Riding John and Jane Pittard’s Annapurna, Gemma led the CCI2* until the very last day, coping very well under the pressure of jumping last and although two rails fell to drop them to third place, it was still good enough for a place on the podium in the CCI2* and she still won the Bates Young Rider Championship
The Riders Series at SIEC Showjumping
Our new addition Wanda wins the 1.20m
Queen Mary wins 1.30m (left) and Medusa wins the Young Rider 1.30m (right)
A great weekend was spent with some of our super horses at the Riders Series at SIEC Showjumping with Queen Mary finishing fourth in the 1.30m class on the first day and winning the title on the second day. Thank you to her part owners Kathy Ward and Pete O'Connell.
Gemma rode a super 1.30m round to take out Young Rider class on Medusa, part owned by Tim Game, thanks again. A good day for the GIRLS!
Earlier in the year we purchased a super mare 'Wanda' with the intention of eventing her. Karen has ticked her along and she is now going out into Pre-Novice however she certainly likes her show jumping.
Stuart takes his Olympic medals to the local school
After Goulburn CIC Stuart visited Gemma's old school, Northholm Grammar, to show his Gold and Bronze Olympic medals to some very excited children
