The event season has started slow here in NSW with a lot of rain. The Sydney mid week managed to get the competition completed but by the weekend it was wet and so miserable it was conducted as a combined training. Mid week results saw John and Jane Pittards Annapurna 2nd in the 1 star- The Huskinson family’s War Hawk 4th in the pre-nov and Brett Parbery took our own My Thai to Brett’s last event with him and came 6th in the pre-lim. Thai is now back with us to further his eventing career.
February was a rather full month for us with Jaymee turning 18, starting University, plus her receiving an award for 2012 Young Eventing Champion at the ENSW Awards night- Jaymee (pictured above) was presented with the award by the HON Graham Annesley, Minister for Sport and Recreation NSW.
The Huskinson family’s War Hawk 4th in the Pre-Nov at Sydney mid week.
War Hawk will now start eventing at 1 star level after a win and a 4th at his first 2 starts with us
Following the Sydney events came the NSW Interschools- which ran over four days at SIEC. With over 500 school riders the committee had their hands full and with rain that would NOT let up it became another ‘survivor event for TE’. The event just did not go well for the Tinney’s– It started with a nagging toothache ( Karen) which led to an emergency trip to the dentist Thursday right in the middle of Gemma’s Eventing! Stuart then had to take the reins (so to speak) and it just did not go to plan- Stuart getting there just in time to see Gemma (who was running third after dressage) get popped off into the last water! Thankfully Gemma was fine and took it very well!
A smiling Gemma after a prompt dismount at the water left her very wet and dirty
Some of you may have read on our face book page as to the tale of the DUBLIN white breeches that Gemma so much loves ‘Please mummy try to get them white again!’ PICTURES ON OUR FACE BOOK PAGE. Thanks Horseland as much as we love these they will need to be replaced!! Great value breeches that fit and wear so well- even after a dunk in the mud!
With the other days taken up with show jumping in the rain- Woody just had to have a rail in every round- (so should have stayed in bed with a good book or a movie!!!) Well done to the Interschools we understand it is a lot to organise- and also thanks to CopRice for sponsoring the Interschools program, which will run throughout the year. The Interschools program is posted on the ENSW web site.
