It never rains but it pours

March was a busy month doing all the preparation for the bigger events to come. We feel very privileged to have such a wonderful team of horses. Now with four German imports and another on its way (unfortunately he is stuck in the UK after purchasing just before the 'Glanders' case in Germany which ceased all German imports.  We thank Sammi McLeod for taking 'Frenchy' until he can be flown here in late August).

Albury CIC was the main attraction for Tinney Eventing this season. With a few lead up dressage and show jump comps the horses were ready and there were great results for TE and our owners. John and Jane Pittard 's Annapurna was second in the CIC***, Corinna and Darren Huskinson's War Hawk was fourth in the CIC**, Kathy Ward and Pete O'Connell's Q 7th and  our own Carlchen 9th. All horses were fabulous all weekend- just picking up time on the cross country as the ground was very hard.

Gemma attended Zone 23 Equitation, winning Champion. Gemma will not attend State Equitation as Carlchen is not vaccinated for Hendra, a requirement for this Championship. However future events (ODE and Show jumping) will now allow unvaccinated horses. Gemma would like to represent her zone at both  ODE and Showjumping Championships, which will follow later in the year.

 What's coming up for TE:

Hawkesbury Show: 25/26th- Jumping, Gemma 1.30m Panamera and Carlchen.

Sydney 3DE 1st-3rd MAY Stuart will not be riding, but concentrating on Course Design for this event.

STOP PRESS: (21/22nd April)

Managing to compete at Equestriad 18/19th April without being washed away, the heavens just opened that Sunday night and it has been relentless rain and storms for three days now here in Sydney. With 264 mm for this month already, I guess it would be fair to say that most of that has been over the past five days!

We live on 30 acres south west of Sydney and back onto the Cattai Creek, which links with the Hawkesbury River.. .. with so much rain the water has been unable to get away so flash flooding took us early Tuesday morning. With the 'Bates' team coming to do their annual saddle fit and training session they were met with Stuart rescuing three of our precious horses ( see pic with Stuart below - all equipped with jeans and Bates T shirt!) Thank you Bates for your time, without power, wet, waterlogged plus no hot drinks !!

Now on day three we have totally lost 10 acres- the horses are wet ( but warm in their WeatherBeeta rugs) and moved to higher ground

Thanks to all that are sending their concern via social media - we hope to have our land back soon!
