Stuart and Wanda at The Riders Series
With a huge gap in the calendar, what else would you do but take yourselves off to the European summer and ride horses in their heatwave! But a great introduction for a move for European horses to Australia we hope. With all that sorted, which takes some organising, we have made some lovely purchases.
The trip started in Germany where we saw some nice horses, some average ones and 3 SUPER ones!! Which of course we bought ........
They are three mares, a 4yo Hanoverian Decurio/Wanderfurst (Diarado line), a 5yo Oldenburg Darkdream/Saint Cloud (Donnerhall line) and a 6yo Hanoverian Barclay/Davignon 1 ( Belissimo M line)
All three have now landed in Australia and will be with us at the end of their quarantine in late August (pictures coming in our next news).
During our absence, our Australian horses also had a midyear break, we now have had them all back in work for five weeks and took them off to THE RIDERS SERIES as their first show for two months. It was windy and bitter however the horses did not seem to care!
Gemma and Diabolo
Stuart took four horses (War Hawk, Wanda, Leporis and Celebration and Gemma rode Diabolo). Saturday saw War Hawk 5th in the 1.20m and all the younger horses jumped super rounds without a place. Then on Sunday War Hawk came 3rd in the 1.30m and Wanda 5th in the 1.20m – these were big classes so we were very happy with them all. We are taking the team show jumping for the next few weekends before we get back into our Eventing season finally :
Stuart and Leporis
Fun, Family , Pasties (and some work ) in Cornwall and the UK
We had a lovely few days with family, visiting old pubs, wine bars and yes, eating lots of Cornish pasties ( sorry no pics, sad face)
While Karen came back to Australia to get the yard ready for the coming events plus settle Steph into her new business (actually, just quietly wanted to get the garage sale sorted!), Stuart headed off to Aachen to support the AUS team - which was an amazing event by all accounts.
Aachen or Garage Sale - priorities may be somewhat back to front!
Just a short message to all our supporters – again we thank you all for your continued support Corinna and Darren Huskinson, John and Jane Pittard, Tim Game, Elisabeth Brinton and our sponsors Bates, Horseland, CopRice and Ceva. With gratitude to Proteq and Ecomist
