First Day of Dressage at Sydney 3DE

It was a blustery day for the Two Star dressage class at the Sydney 3DE and the blowing flags and sudden gusts caused a bit of tension in some horses but at the end of the day it was Keira Byrnes on Fox Hill leading on 49.50, then Jade Findlay and Frontier Psychiatrist on 51.20, Craig Barrett and Sandhills Brillaire on 51.70, Dominic Ingvall and Kiatra Diamond Edition on 54.00, Katja Weimann on BP Gallantry on 54.80 and Prue Barrett with Wendela Jamie on 55.00 (The video of Prue's test can be seen on our Facebook page in full).

There were also demonstration rides from some of the ParaEquestrian team selected for the WEG - Nicole Kullen on Nishkar Nomination, Sharon Jarvis and the very impressive Applewood Odorado (keenly watched by friend and supporter Sonja Johnson) and Grace Bowman on the lovely Kirby Park Joy showed why they have been selected for the team. Then some of the Grand Prix demonstration riders took to the arena for a familiarisation for tomorrow when they will strutt their stuff including Rozzie Ryan, Rachel Sanna and Blas Lago.

It was then time for the Three Star riders and the riders taking part in the "not really a competition" WEG special class took to the main arena for their familiarisation time. A great day for soaking up the atmosphere, some sun (when it was out and you were in a sheltered place) and enjoying watching some of Australia's best riders in many disciplines in a fairly relaxed atmosphere. Tomorrow the dressage continues and the Young Horse Competition starts along with more WEG sport demonstrations
